Food distribution

During the 2011 drought & famine in the whole of Africa more than 5,000,000 people were going hungry in Kenya alone. In response to the disaster CHEPs undertook food distribution to the most affected people and communities in the Coast, Eastern, Rift valley and North Eastern province. The latter was the most affected region and was the main target of the CHEPs famine relief project. CHEPs ensured that food was given by its members in the hands of individual beneficiaries in 42 villages. In total more than 140 tonnes of food was distributed among over 129,000 people.

CHEPs  has provided  food to orphans, widows and destitute in North Eastern Kenya during the Muslim holy month Ramadhan in 2012 and 2013.
